Vacancy Announcement: Administrative Assistant

The U.S. Mission in Antananarivo is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Administrative Assistant within the Public Affairs Section (PAS).

POSITION:                Administrative Assistant; FSN-8/ FP-06
OPENING DATE:    October 21, 2020
CLOSING DATE:     November 11, 2020
WORK HOURS:       Full time, 40 hours per week

REQUIREMENTS:

 Under the supervision of the Public Affairs Officer (PAO), the incumbent is in charge of managing the budget, the administration and logistical aspects of the Public Affairs Section (PAS). S/he provides support for PAS public events, and also serves as a Grants Officer Representative and oversees Public Diplomacy Federal Assistance program.

S/he coordinates budget planning with section heads for Public Affairs Officer (PAO)’s approval, works closely with Financial Management Officer (FMO)  to keep track of allotments and their use, manages the Section’s administration and logistics.

S/he serves as the Grants Officer Representative in managing PAS Federal Assistance Agreements including pre-award reviews, awards, monitoring and evaluation, and closeouts.

EDUCATION:

Completion of two years of University Studies is required.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of two years administrative experience which includes budget management is required.

LANGUAGE:

Level IV (Fluent) Speaking/Writing/Reading English is required (This will be tested);
Level IV (Fluent) Speaking/Writing/Reading French is required;
Level IV (Fluent) Speaking/Writing/Reading Malagasy is required.
