The U.S. Mission in Antananarivo is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for one position of Maintenance Worker (Swimming Pool Technician) within the Facility Management Section.

POSITION:                Maintenance Worker / Swimming Pool Technician (FSN-5/FP-09)
OPENING DATE:    October 31, 2019
CLOSING DATE:     November 13, 2019
WORK HOURS:       Full time, 40 hours per week

Under the direct supervision of the Mechanical Engineer, the incumbent performs journeyman level swimming pool technician duties. S/he is responsible for repair work, preventive maintenance, installation, supply requests, and administrative work related to the Embassy residential swimming pools at the Chief of Mission Residence (CMR), the Deputy Chief of Mission Residence (DCMR) and other leased properties.

REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Completion of High School is required.

Completion of 1 year of specific training in the use of chemical products, in the maintenance and repair of swimming pool is required. Completion of 1 year study in electrical, mechanical and plumbing is required.

EXPERIENCE:  Minimum of two (2) years of experience, or equivalent, as skilled journeyman in the swimming pool is required, which must have one (1) year of experience in electrical and in plumbing is required.

LANGUAGE:

Level II (Limited Knowledge) reading/speaking/writing of English is required. (This will be tested)
Level III (Good Working Knowledge) reading/speaking/writing of French is required.
Level III (Good Working Knowledge) reading/speaking/writing of Malagasy is required.
