The Information Resource Center (IRC) is the Embassy library within the Chancery at Point Liberty Andranoro-Antehiroka, Antananarivo. It is the most effective tool to help people better understand the United States’ government, foreign policy, history, society and cultural values. The IRC is a state of the art library equipped with cutting edge technology like iPads, iMacs, kindles, books, DVDs and BluRays on various topics such as Democracy, Human Rights, Rule of Law, Business, Entrepreneurship, Economics, Management, Communications, Youth Leadership, English Learning , and Environment protection. The IRC conducts regular programs: the eLibraryUSA training, Movie session, English Club, Friday Talk, group advising session on study in the U.S., and outreaches to different schools and organizations.
How to get access to the IRC?
Please submit your full name as they appear in your ID at IRCantananarivo@state.gov no later than three business days before the end of each month and you will be granted access to the IRC the following month. The IRC special access is valid for one month and is renewable on a monthly basis.
The IRC is open to the public for free from Monday through Thursday from 8am to 5pm, and on Fridays from 8am-1.30pm. It is closed on Malagasy and American holidays.
