FOREIGN NATIONAL INTERN PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENT
U.S. EMBASSY MADAGASCAR AND COMOROS
ANNOUNCEMENT NUMBER: 003-2024

The U.S. Embassy in Madagascar and Comoros, located in Antananarivo, is offering (2) two unpaid internship opportunities within the American Space team of the Public Diplomacy section.

Major duties or projects:

  1. Assisting with the implementation of American Corner live and virtual programs, particularly the MeetUS and Embassy eTalk virtual speaker programs.
  2. Managing the American Center’s social media properties and coordinating with the social media platforms of the American Corners.
  3. Helping with the inventory, receiving, and shipping of American Space equipment, furnishings, and materials.
  4. Other tasks as assigned.

Scope of work:

The internship involves working with the American Space team on live and virtual programs, events; assisting with the inventory and shipment of American Corners equipment, furnishings, and materials and providing assistance to other teams as needed.

Qualification requirements (knowledge, skills, abilities):

  • University student or recent graduate
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Strong communication skills including excellent written and spoken English. English will be tested.
  • Experience with social media, graphic design, and virtual meeting platforms.
  • Flexibility, self-motivation, and the ability to work remotely, if necessary.
  • Sound organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience with email, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.

Work schedule: Minimum of 20 hours a week and up to 8 hours/day for 40 hours/week

Duration of the internship: Six months to one year.

Start date of the internship: As soon as medical and security clearance are granted.

Designated staff member(s) to mentor/supervise the intern: Administrative lead in Public Diplomacy section.
